Beginning in 1983, the Lolita Lempicka fashion house created the name when its founders Josiane Pividal and her spouse Joseph created their brand as a combined homage to Vladimir Nabokov's legendary story 'Lolita' and the Polish artist Tamara de Lempicka.

In 1984, the couple opened their first shop, located in the Marais district of Paris. Although Josiane's creations are usually inspired by the 1940s, they constantly achieve a playful harmony combining the contemporary and the sentimental past.

Since 1997, under the name Lolita Lempicka, the brand has released high-quality perfumes with scents ranging from earthy and woody to floral and fresh. This division was significantly expanded at the turn of the second millennium. The bottle, whose shape resembles an apple, remains a classic to this day. In 2000, the first men's fragrances, such as Lolita Lempicka au Masculin, appeared.
